STATEMENTS of BELIEF

MRU WV believes that ...

  • the need for public assistance, whether temporary or long-term, does not make one a second-class citizen.

  • every individual has the right to dignity, privacy, and self-determination.

  • Medicaid recipients are not "clients" or "cases" but rather PEOPLE with diverse strengths, needs, and hopes.

  • Medicaid recipients and their families should accept responsibility to be proactive participants in the program.

MISSION STATEMENT

MRU WV continually strives toward a service delivery system that empowers individuals and their families, builds upon their strengths and resiliency, maximizes their potential, honors their choices, and involves them in the policy making process.
