	MRU WV operates under a committee structure which enables us to make the most effective and efficient use of the time and talents of our members. Committee membership is not required, but it is strongly encouraged. MRU WV's standing committees and their primary responsibilities are as follows: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE Governs the organization Approves legislative priorities Approves press releases Approves position statements Approves all expenditures Forms alliances & coalitions with other advocacy groups Conducts membership meetings MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Assists in recruiting new members Helps verify identity Maintains the membership roster Tracks contributions LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE Determines legislative priorities for Executive Committee adoption Interacts with legislators to advance those priorities Makes presentations, when asked, before legislators and other groups Stays on top of legislative issues Drafts & distributes action alerts ELECTION COMMITTEE Distributes materials about upcoming elections, issues, and candidates Assists those in their community in registering to vote Assists those in their community in getting out to vote Attends public forums where candidates for election answer questions Works closely with the Legislative Committee EDUCATION COMMITTEE Addresses issues relating to public schools as Medicaid providers OFFLINE COMMITTEE Assures that those members who do not use or have access to the Internet stay "in the loop" via phone, fax, or U.S.Mail Prepares mass mailings Provides offline members with information to assist them in obtaining a computer, receiving training, and getting online Manages the mass production of print materials, t-shirts, buttons, etc.
	The West Virginia Medicaid Recipients' Union relies on volunteers to support its advocacy efforts. Thus, donations in any amount are gratefully accepted both electronically via credit card (left) and via U.S.Mail to cover the costs of postage, copying, bumper stickers, ads, operating expenses, etc. Checks or money orders should be made payable to "MRU WV."
