	If you are a person with a disability or have an attending family member with a disability, you can apply to receive a stipend or a scholarship. A STIPEND is $55 for an individual or $110 for a family. Stipend checks are mailed 4-6 weeks after the conference. A SCHOLARSHIP is the full cost of attending the conference. A very limited number of scholarships are available each year. If you check this box on the REGISTRATION form, you will receive an additional form in the mail that must be completed and returned. Recognizing that the available stipend may not be enough to enable your family to attend the conference, we have created a form to help you gain the needed support. Simply complete the form, make copies, and give it to your employer, local businesses, your church, your rich uncle, and/or any civic organization. Sponsors send their tax-deductible contributions directly to the WV Family Support Foundation, who will then notify your family that you’ve been sponsored. Upon arrival at the conference, you will receive a check to cover your expenses up to (but not exceeding) the amount received from your sponsor(s).* Each sponsor will receive a receipt for tax purposes. Here are a few recommendations to consider when distributing your forms: Your employer Your church Local businesses ... especially those who provide services for people with disabilities or where you are a regular customer. Civic organizations (i.e., Elks, American Legion, Lions Club, Eagles, Rotary, Masons, etc.) Your local Family Support Program [PDF] WVU Centers for Excellence in Disabilities (CED) Advocacy organizations (WV Advocates, WVPTI, MSPCAN, CILs, etc.) * Please note that this sponsorship is separate and apart from the conference stipend. Stipend checks are mailed a couple weeks AFTER the conference. If your family receives full sponsorship from contributor(s), you will not also be eligible to receive a stipend. If contributions are received in excess of your family’s expenses, they will be used to sponsor another family.
